visibility is a sacred practice

(This is part 1 of my Sacred Visibility Series.)

Visibility is messy. It’s uncomfortable. It’s full of fear, judgment, and moments where you want to hide under the nearest rock. And yet, it’s also how your work, message, and impact reach the people who need it most.

Truth?

Service, Not Attention

Visibility is about service, not attention. It’s about what you’re here to give, the transformation you’re here to catalyze, and the ripple effects of showing up as your fully aligned self.

I remember the first time I shared my story publicly. The lights went out, I froze, and for a moment I completely forgot what I was going to say. I was catastrophizing internally — convinced I was failing — but then something remarkable happened.

After my talk, another coach approached me. She admitted she’d been holding back part of her story yet felt inspired to share it at her own speaking engagement the next day. She did, and later told me that someone came up to her afterward and said she’d changed his mind and heart.

Be the Message

In that moment, I realized this wasn’t about performance or perfection. It was about being the message as authentically as possible in that moment, and the impact of that, regardless of what happened.

Here are some key insights I’ve learned on the court of visibility over the years:

  • It’s normal to want, and even celebrate, the applause, sales, and validation but what feeds your reward system isn’t what keeps you going in the face of resistance. What you activate in others does.
  • Fear, shame, self-criticism – it comes up. The key is learning to navigate it without short-circuiting your nervous system, beating yourself up or continuing to hide.
  • You cannot control how people perceive you. You can be radically honest with yourself about whether you are willing to show up fully present and aligned with your purpose.

When you do, you’re co-creating with something greater than yourself. Something that wants to move through you for the benefit of others. Your courage to be visible becomes a channel for this sacred work.

Center What’s Possible

I invite you to ask yourself, then share in the comments:

If I were willing to be visible and capable of receiving what comes (or doesn’t), what opportunities might I open myself to?

What impact might I create simply by being present and aligned with my purpose?

Because showing up fully is how change flows to you and through you.
