I recently worked with an author and community-builder named Marjorie, who ran into what many would call a “good problem to have.”

Her Facebook group had exploded, growing from 2,000 to over 5,000 members. She was pouring her heart into nurturing this space, sharing valuable insights, and showing up to support her people.

On the outside? It looked like massive momentum.

On the inside? She felt drained.

Marjorie was giving, giving, and giving — yet receiving almost nothing in return.

She wanted to share her latest story and invite more people to buy her book. She dreamed of the group sharing her work widely. And she knew her new book — a deeply personal, edgy departure from her usual topics — was going to be powerful for the right people.

Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

It feels risky. The worst thing for me is being accused of being selfish.

That was the wound running the show.

Somewhere in her past, being visible, asking for support, or receiving recognition had been linked with being selfish. And that old belief — unhealed — was now blocking her from receiving the support she truly desired and needed to sustain her mission.

This is common, especially for Spirit-led coaches, healers, and leaders who feel called to serve.

You’re here to make an impact. To give generously from your heart.

To do so, your work needs to be resourced. And so do you.

When visibility feels risky, or when asking feels selfish, it’s usually not a strategy issue. It’s a safety issue, often as a result of an energetic mismatch between giving and receiving.

That mismatch often stems from old wounds that whisper:

“If you ask, they’ll think you’re selfish.”

“If you shine too brightly, someone will feel small.”

“If you receive too much, you’ll lose love, respect, safety.”

When we did some gentle healing work around this with Marjorie, the shift was immediate. She reached out to her group from a clear, grounded place and invited members to beta-read her new book. Several happily said yes.

More importantly? Marjorie felt relieved, energized, and visible in her community again.

Here’s what she said:

I struggled with turning the relationship with my group from one in which I’m doing all the giving to receiving support back and creating more balance. Now I have tools to help them understand how they can support me. Scary, vulnerable, and really important.

So let me ask you…

  • Do you feel like you’re constantly giving — without getting much in return?
  • Is your fear of being seen as “too much” or “selfish” keeping you from asking for what you need?
  • And what might shift if your energy around visibility, support, and receiving came into alignment?

If something in you whispered yes, you’re not alone.

These are the exact kinds of visibility wounds I help my clients uncover and heal, so they can show up, speak up, and receive in their business without the emotional hangover.

If you want to explore this more deeply, let’s talk.

This work isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about restoring your energetic integrity, so you can lead in a way that’s bold, gentle, and real.

Because your presence is powerful, and you deserve to be supported as you share your gifts with the world.
